Riverflux Audio · Sample pack QC / phase check

Checking sample packs and one-shots for stereo phase issues before sale or release

Club systems, Bluetooth bars, and phone speakers often fold stereo to mono. Wide one-shots and layered loops can lose body right where buyers notice. Sample pack QC should include a mono fold check for disappearing lows before you sell or release. PHIXER is free continuous stereo phase repair (VST3 / CLAP / AU). It is not a time-aligner.

Hard clarify: Fix polarity and sample-align layered mics or stacked one-shots first. Use continuous phase rotation only when a stereo file still hollows in mono after that hygiene. Do not flatten creative Haas width that is the sound of the pack.

Why sample packs fail on club mono

QC habit before sale or release

Pack mono fold checklist

  1. True L+R or Utility Width 0% on each stereo one-shot and loop (plus a phone speaker pass).
  2. Note what disappears (kick body, sub, pad low-mids, layered FX tails).
  3. If stacked mics or layered one-shots are still late or flipped, fix polarity and timing first.
  4. Only then nudge PHIXER on residual spectral L/R fights. A/B with the plugin bypassed.
  5. Re-check after any pack bus glue or limiter. Ship only when mono still has body.
